Reviewing Footage

As a group we are currently reviewing the principle photography that we took a few weeks ago. We carried out filming for the storyline in our video, which consists of a lonely girl walking around London. We completed the sections where the girl is sending out invitations for her birthday, getting ready and waiting for a bus. To help us achieve a variety of shots we used a jib, dolly and tracks.
This is an image of us setting up the jib.

We are choosing which ones we consider as being good which will be used in the music video. The ancillary tasks that I am undertaking are the advertising products; such as billboard posters. I have nearly finished creating the bus stop poster which links to the album cover and its release.
We are planning to continue filming during the Christmas holidays, and are hopefully taking our photos some time this week. This means that we can continue with our ancillary tasks over the holidays.

Poster

Today I began creating my poster for the band. Me and Kate H took photos of different people around school and today I cropped each individual face and made one face. This relates to the band because the album is called strangers and our video is going to be centred around the idea that strangers pass by everyday and do not acknowledge each other. I have decided that the final image should be used as a poster for a bus stop because of its dimensions.

Last Friday we began filming for the music video, this included using tracking to get shots of Kate walking along a street, and footage of her waking up in the morning.

Production Schedule

Today we wrote our production schedule where we outlined what dates we are going to carry out our principal photography. We have decided to shoot footage in London on Sunday 24th October, this will be of the characters in our video and we have decided to shoot band footage on Wednesday 17th Novermber. Footage of the band playing will be filmed in a recording studio. By carrying out the filming early, it will mean that we have plently of time to edit the footage, and shoot any extra scenes that were not filmed properly the first time. We have decided that we will then carry out our individual ancillary tasks during our study periods in November, as well as editing the footage during lesson time.

This photo shows the timeline of each shot that needs to be covered. It includes the location and the shot type.

The Beginning

We have formed into a group for our advance production in media. The group consists of me, Katharine Haycock, Vanessa Solomon and Kate Bradley. We have nicknamed our group as 'Team Go For Gold'.

After thinking about which song will be most appropriate, we decided to chose the song 'Use Somebody' by Kings of Leon. The concept of our music video is a lonely girl who goes to London to meet up with her friends. Whilst walking, another equally lonely boy is coincidently wherever she is. When she goes to the place that she agreed to meet her friends, she realises that she has been stood up. She then notices the boy and the music video ends.

We conducted our pitch on Friday 15th October where we talked about our concept for the music video and what each member is doing for the ancillary task. It has been decided that I will create advertisments, this includes posters. I am also going to create smaller products, such as t-shirts.

We made two mood boards so that it was clear what was to be shown in our video:

This is the mood board to show the concept of the music video, which is a lonely girl surrounded by people

This is the mood board which features album covers from our genre
